Charity cd 48 Track Home Studio!

Hi Groovies, and welcome to my latest blog. For the 'Music' part of this blog I thought I might say a bit about my home studio setup and how I intend to use it to produce some tracks for a charity cd. Its pretty modest but effective...... i think, here goes! MUSIC NEWS As you may know I'am in the process of producing a charity cd with collaborators here in the UK and in the States. I was given a new ipad a couple monthes ago by 'superwife' Sofia and discovered the wonderful world of ipad recording with a few apps and a few bits of gear! Click here www.soundcloud.com/thevaults-1 for a couple 'work in progress' tracks which will eventually appear on the charity cd.  These work in progress tracks were recorded using my home studio setup which consists of an ipad and the following software and gear;- AURIA recording app £35 FOCUSRITE SCARLETTE 2i4 audi interface. £149. IRIG KEYS MIDI CONTROLLER KEYBOARD for playing various music apps. £60. RODE NT1A microphone. £134 APOGEE JAM Guitar interface Appogee Jam £70. My favourite music making apps are;- DRUM LOOPS HD drums, DRUM JAM drums, IGRAND piano, SUNRIZER synth, ALCHEMY synth, IPOLYSIX synth, THUMBJAM synth, JAMUP PRO guitar modeller, and AUDIOBUS which allows me to connect these apps to my recording app AURIA (see above). All these apps are available  relatively cheaply from the Apple apps store. Before I discovered the world of ipad recording I would not have believed that high quality recordings could be produced on an ipad. But hearing is believing! www.soundcloud.com/thevaults-1 'Shoulderdemo' will eventually have bass and vocals. 'Meditation 1' is an instrumental track that needs some editing but is nearly finished! CHARITY NEWS Last year was very sucessful as the latest Annual Report shows Annual Report of The Basil Skyers Myeloma Foundation for 2013 - Final Version. A total of £2347 was raised which went to help Myeloma patients and their families. This help included transport costs, Hotel costs, purchase of wheel chairs, care costs and more! In addition to a charity cd launch, more events are planned for this year in Nottingham and London. These include a sponsored walk, Myleloma Info day, annual charity show and a London music festival! As they say, 'stay tuned' 2013 promises to be a brilliant year for the charity. www.basilskyersfoundation.org/ Finally! Just a reminder that my band is playing The Bull's Head in Barnes on Monday 18th of feb. It promises to be a great gig as always with some surprise guests! Also dont forget you can catch the band at one of our Sunday residency gigs at the RAILWAY TAVERN in Crouch End. http://www.the-railwaytavern.co.uk/ Full Gig listings here! http://www.thebluegrooves.co.uk/schedule/ Well thats all for now folks! take care till next time, Cheers Clyde
